Casie Schuller
Casie Schuller has recently been wondering about the role of language in shaping our identity and actions in the world.
How does language and grammar shape our thinking and our relationships with others?
How is language used to influence behavior and thinking (from parents/children, political leaders/constituents, product marketing/consumers)
What does it mean to choose to use language differently as a way of thinking for oneself and taking an active role in influencing the world of which one is a part?
Through her undergraduate work at The Evergeen State College and graduate work at St. John’s College, Casie learned to practice inquiry-driven, egalitarian, community-based learning that emphasizes dealing critically and creatively with reality and transforming the world in contrast to education that functions as indoctrination/integration into logic/aims of present power/system. She has experience leading inquiry-based discussions with youth in schools.
Casie has a long history of following her curiosity through sustained inquiry, traversing various companies, schools, and volunteer roles. In her professional life as a Senior Technical Program Manager at Microsoft, Casie uses her insatiable curiosity to guide projects and lead teams. Casie lives in Spokane, WA.
