Douglas Arnwine

Douglas has recently been wondering about justice, contrition, and the possibility of forgiveness.

He is an educator who teaches literature, philosophy, and social/cultural history and curates experiential educational programs for a diversity of students. While his primary employment history over the last two decades has been in US-based and international secondary schools (Armenia, India, and Zambia), he also works within the field of public philosophy.

Douglas has developed and facilitated a Philosophy for Children curriculum and has taught ethics, literature, and writing courses to incarcerated teens and adults. Additionally, he collaborates on curricular design with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program's Philosophy course. Currently, Douglas is an instructor of literature and writing both at Convent & Stuart Hall High School and Mount Tamalpais College inside San Quentin State Prison.

He lives in San Francisco.
