Premise Online Open House and Short Session
Sunday, December 21st from 10:00am-11:30am This Premise event is free and open to all!
As the year winds down, many of us start paying closer attention to the moments that feel meaningful or set apart. This online open house is a chance to meet the Premise community and experience how a session feels by joining a short and lively conversation centered on the question: What Is Holy? Who Decides?
Our Conversation Catalysts:
We will explore how the idea of holiness shows up in everyday life. We'll look at how ordinary rituals, small acts of care, unexpected beauty, and even the overlooked parts of daily life can take on a sacred quality. Ginsberg’s poem invites us to consider a simple but powerful idea. What if the holy is already all around us, waiting to be noticed.
Allen Ginsberg’s “Footnote to Howl”
Patti Smith’s performance of the poem
Together we will sit with a few resonant questions. What makes something feel holy.Who gets to decide. And how might we recognize the sacred in places we do not usually look.
We will also share a sampling of the big questions about life that we have been chewing on as a community and that we hope to offer in Premise sessions in the year ahead.
If you are curious about Premise or would like to reconnect, this open house offers a warm and welcoming way to join the conversation. Bring a coffee and your curiosity.
