Premise is a place where vibrant conversations foster deep learning. To enhance the experience for everyone, we ask participants to uphold these shared values:

Purposeful Engagement

  • Approach each class with curiosity 

  • Come prepared having engaged with the assigned text (reading or film)

  • Focus on learning about ourselves, the text, and the world

Experienced Facilitation

  • Follow the facilitator’s lead. Like a conductor guiding an orchestra, the facilitator ensures the conversation flows harmoniously.

  • Share the air. Recognize that time constraints may sometimes limit individual contributions to keep the discussion balanced.

Text-Centered Exploration

  • Use the shared text as an anchor for discussions

  • Balance personal insights with textual analysis
